Constrictive Pericarditis definition?
Constrictive Pericarditis is the thickening of the pericardium which impedes diastolic expansion of the ventricles. Inflammation of the pericardium (the sac-like covering of the heart) with subsequent thickening, scarring, and contracture of the pericardium causes Constrictive Pericarditis.
