What is Contact Dermatitis
A skin condition commonly encountered by physicians is allergic contact dermatitis. With new chemical sensitizers being introduced into our environment constantly, physicians will be evaluating more instances of this disease. Contact dermatitis is the most common occupational disease, and, as such, is of importance to both the individual and to society. The patient with allergic contact dermatitis may be very uncomfortable and have poor quality of life. Inability to pursue employment or recreation are common, especially if there is a delay in diagnosis and removal from exposure.
